| I do not recall the head-on crash at all. I only have the memory of a scene. The scene was so rich in color and detail, and so profound, that is stuck with me for weeks after the accident. I saw a line of cars to my left, and another row of cars to my right. All the cars were stopped, one behind the other. I had no focus or awareness of the crash scene at all. It was a peaceful experience. The 360 degree vision is not unlike other stories of near-death experiences. I am convinced that my awareness or consciousness that is housed within my physical body was given the immediate order to vacate. I believe that this is the body/mind/spirit system's way of dealing with physical death. It allows for the expulsion of the subtle energy body prior to the impact of death. In the same way, the physical body releases certain chemicals to deal with crisis and pain to the physical body. Shock is also used as a mechanism for surviving trauma, as is erased memory of the event. |
